Hello guys, this is Akshay Lotankar from Cariad Betriebsrat Southeast division. To all the Expats and Internationals, I need your attention for the next 5 minutes. Currently not only Cariad but the entire German automobile industry is having difficult times. The difference between the native workers and Internationals and Expats is the knowledge for our rights of knowing where we can stand up of what is injustice. When it comes to job security, when it comes to the future, we don’t have a consultant. We know the language. We speak German, but integration does not stop by only speaking the language in supermarkets. The integration has to be we have to fight in German in this language being with the German people and fighting together for a better future. For me in the last couple of years, IG-Metall has been that work consultant to educate me about my rights, about where I should stand, to know in the first place whether there is some kind of injustice or not. The moment you learn this, you learn your defense mechanism. Just a subtle request to all of y’all: Go to the IG-Metall website. Go to to the union website. Go to the office. Fetch the union members who are active. Fetch the Betriebsrat members who are active, who you know. Speak! That’s your job. That’s your duty what you should do, at least in these difficult times. Be prepared! Be weaponized with what I can do than just laying down there like a victim. Please do speak up! This is the time that a collective action is important. Let’s make this community one big community, where the Management, the IG-Metall the union, the government takes us seriously. I hope my message reaches to you on a good note.
