Die IG-Metall setzt sich doch eh schon für uns ein oder?
Die IG-Metall ist dafür, dass Cariad und Semvox weiterhin die Software für die Marken im VW Konzern bauen. Also wenn die eh dafür sind, warum muss ich dann eintreten?
Die IG-Metall ist nicht zu vergleichen mit einem typisch hierarchischen Unternehmen. Es werden selten top-down Ziele vorgegeben und Aufgaben verteilt. Ich bin Mitglied in der IG-Metall, aber das heißt nicht, dass Christiane Benner meine Chefin ist.
IG-Metall funktioniert bottom-up. Wir, die stinknormalen Mitglieder entscheiden, was wir für uns und unsere Kolleginnen und Kollegen erreichen wollen und welche Aktionen wir machen wollen. Die IG-Metall-Funktionäre, die für viele Mitglieder zuständig sind tun ihr Bestes, die Interessen dieser Menschen zu vertreten. Aber das geht nur, wenn da auch was dahinter ist: Ein Vertrauenskörper und eine gewisse Menge Mitglieder mit regelmäßiger Meinungsbildung, mit Umfragen und Mitgliederversammlungen.
Wenn bei Semvox nur 5% Mitglied in der IG-Metall wären, was soll Conny Schönhardt dann machen? Sie hätte dann keine Fühler in den Betrieb. Sie hätte auch nicht wirklich einen Auftrag, für uns bei Semvox etwas zu tun und sich für uns einzusetzen. Wenn du dich entscheidest, nicht in der IG-Metall zu sein, heißt das aus IG-Metall-Sicht: Die Person will uns nicht, aus welchem Grund auch immer und für die Person soll ich mich nicht einsetzen. Und wenn ein Großteil der Angestellten eines Betriebes sich entscheidet, nicht in der IG-Metall zu sein, ist der Effekt entsprechend größer.
Du kennst die aktuelle Lage, wie aus allen Richtungen an unseren Stühlen gesägt wird. Wir brauchen Unterstützung. Wir brauchen die IG-Metall, nicht nur aus Arbeitnehmer-Sicht, sondern auch als Firma Semvox brauchen wir die IG-Metall. Werde Mitglied in der IG-Metall! Damit sich jemand für uns einsetzt, dem man im VW Konzern Gehör schenkt. Damit wir als Semvox im Konzern bessere Chancen haben, politisch zu bestehen.
IG Metall is already standing up for us anyway, right?
IG Metall supports Cariad and Semvox continuing to develop the software for the brands in the VW Group. So if they’re already in favor of it, why do I need to join?
IG Metall isn’t like a typical hierarchical company. Goals and tasks are rarely set top-down. I’m a member of IG Metall, but that doesn’t mean Christiane Benner is my boss.
IG Metall operates on a bottom-up basis. We, the ordinary members, decide what we want to achieve for ourselves and our colleagues and what actions we want to take. The IG Metall officials, who are responsible for many members, do their best to represent the interests of these people. But that’s only possible if there’s a solid foundation: a union representative body and a certain number of members who regularly share their views e.g. through surveys and member meetings.
If only 5% of Semvox employees were members of IG Metall, what would Conny Schönhardt be supposed to do? She wouldn’t have any inside connections at the company. She also wouldn’t really have a mandate to do anything for us at Semvox or to advocate on our behalf. If you decide not to join IG Metall, from IG Metall’s perspective that means: “This person doesn’t want us, for whatever reason, and I shouldn’t stand up for them.” And if a large portion of a company’s employees decides not to join IG Metall, the impact is correspondingly greater.
You know the current situation, how our positions are being undermined from all sides. We need support. We need IG Metall, not just from an employee’s perspective, but also as the company Semvox, we need IG Metall. Become a member of IG Metall! So that someone who carries weight within the VW Group will stand up for us. So that we, as Semvox, have a better chance of holding our own politically within the Group.
